Matchday Steward 2025/26 Season
JOB PURPOSE
We are seeking enthusiastic and reliable Matchday Stewards to join our team during our 2025/26 season.
Luton Town Football Club is a vibrant and inclusive venue, welcoming thousands of supporters each matchday. We pride ourselves on delivering a safe and friendly, and unforgettable experience for all visitors.
The purpose of the role is to be responsible for the safety, security and enjoyment of all spectators and staff during our events.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Provide excellent customer service and assist spectators queries.
- Monitor crowds and ensure public safety throughout the venue.
- Conduct ticket and bag checks at entry points.
- Guide visitors to their seats and direct them around the stadium.
- Respond to incidents quickly and professionally, escalating where necessary.
- Uphold stadium rules and regulations at all times.
- Attend pre-event briefing, and ensure all information is understood.
- Attend all training sessions required.
- Monitor the crowd within your designated areas for signs of overcrowding or distress.
- Ensure all exits and evacuation routes are kept clear.
- To recognise any potential hazards/suspect packages, report any findings immediately to stand supervisor.
- To remain at deployed areas unless instructed to leave by a authorised persons such as Supervisor, Head Steward, Safety Officer.
- Report any damages or defects which could pose a threat to spectator safety to the area supervisor.
- To remain calm under pressure.
- Assist fully in the evacuation of the ground.

- To comply with Club Policies and Health & Safety procedures.
- To comply with Club Safeguarding procedures.
- To remain professional all times, promoting our Club values.
- To embed Equality, Diversity and Inclusivity into The Club.
- To undertake any such duties as reasonably expected.
MAIN JOB REQUIREMENTS AND PERSON SPECIFICATION
Education/Qualifications/Training:
- Essentials
- Able to communicate in a clear and concise manner.
- Can follow instructions and steward expectations of the role and standards outlined in our Matchday Steward Handbook.
- Valid SIA Licence
- Level 2 NVQ Spectator Safety
Specific Experience:
- Experience of working within a similar role previously.
- Experience of working within a customer facing role.
Abilities/Skills/Knowledge:
- Friendly, approachable with a professional attitude.
- Strong communication skills.
- Ability to work and remain calm under pressure.
- Punctual, reliable and flexible with working hours covering evening and weekend shifts.
Additional Information:
- This a Casual Worker role.
- Training will be provided.
- Applicants must be 18 years or older.
- Applicants must be eligible to live and work in the UK.
