Social Media Manager
Join the Club as Social Media Manager, be at the heart of elevating Luton Town’s digital presence, boost fan engagement, and deliver standout club coverage across all platforms.
JOB PURPOSE
- Produce and publish first class content across all of Luton Town’s social media platforms.
- Lead on social media strategy creation and implementation.
- Help to maintain and update the Club website and App when required.
- Work alongside and collaboratively with all other departments at the Football Club to deliver campaigns, drive supporter engagement and identify opportunities to increase Club-controlled income.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Day-to-day creation and publishing of content across all social media platforms.
- Devise clear metrics for growth, benchmarking and reporting across all social channels.
- Devise a clear social media strategy to support the overarching Communications strategy.
- To set KPI’s on a quarterly basis around growth of channels and compare with peer group clubs.
- To be ahead of and stay on top of social media trends.
- Create and manage content plans for all Club social platforms.
- Lead on the analysis of social media stats and tracking growth of Club channels.
- Produce and self-shoot short-form social content optimised for all platforms.
- Graphic design and image editing within short timeframes.
- Assist in the posting and copy creation of press releases and matchday information.
- Help ensure that important Club announcements are delivered online in a timely and professional way via the Club’s website and other distribution and media channels.
- Maintain and update sections of all social channels within your control.
- Conduct player/manager matchday interviews alongside Club talent as required.
- Be available to attend home and away first-team matches, as required by line manager.
- Liaise and creatively collaborate with Club partners and other departments within the Club to ensure that contractual commitments and activations are delivered, including supporting the Club’s commitment to equality, diversity and inclusion.
- Manage EFL advertisements on social media channels via their Socialie app.
MAIN JOB REQUIREMENTS AND PERSON SPECIFICATION
- A degree in a relevant subject area (PR, English, marketing, journalism or media related)
- Previous experience of a professional football club’s media department
- Excellent time-management skills and ability to turnaround features/work against tight deadlines, being able to respond to quick changes.
- Attention to detail in creating and posting across all online channels.
- Excellent communications skills across all levels with directors, coaches, players and fans, as well as the ability to mentor junior members of the media team.
- Experience of producing content for and managing social media platforms
- Experience of planning and scheduling social media content on multiple channels
- Experience in social media analytics reporting, and using analytics to guide strategic decisions on output.
- Experience of writing web content and editing/uploading videos
- Experience of interviewing and producing content with footballers/professional sports people
- Committed, enthusiastic and passionate about football and the delivery of all news and information from Luton Town Football Club.
- Be an ambassador for Luton Town Football Club, always presenting the Club in a positive image.

- This a Full-Time role, including both home & away matches
