Sport Science Internship
Join The Club as a First Team Sports Science Intern for the 2024-25 season. Assist the Head of Sports Science and Lead S&C in planning and delivering top-tier sports science strategies.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Assist with the provision of high-quality gym-based programing and planning relevant and specific to the demands of the game as well as the teams and individuals involved.
- Work alongside the head of sports science/lead S&C regarding field & gym related training variables including; programing and exercise design templates and in-depth analysis of all training variables.
- Assist and support the lead S&C, medical and external practitioners in the screening and testing as well as data collection of all players across age groups.
- Assist with activation & prehabilitation relating the individual in order to achieve a pro-active approach to enhancing performance and reducing injury.
- Support all players in adhering to individual and group recovery strategies to maximize training and match play abilities.
- Assist and drive the players in adhering to individual and group performance nutrition and supplementation strategies for increased athletic performance.
- Continue to develop and enhance daily pre and post training monitoring structures via the use of monitoring templates and TMA software.
- Fulfil any other relevant duties as directed by staff in regards to SS provision.
MAIN JOB REQUIREMENTS AND PERSON SPECIFICATION
Education/Qualifications/Training:
Essential:
- A degree (or working towards) in Sports Science or a relevant sub discipline i.e. Strength and Conditioning.
- A passion, hunger and desire for Sports Science/S&C as well as Football as a sport.
- Commit to the potentially tasking and extensive schedule associated with position.
Desirable
- MSc or Working towards an MSc in a relevant Sports Science discipline.
- UKSCA accreditation or the ability to work towards this status throughout the forthcoming season.
- Experience with the TMA software, Catapult, VALD or relative athlete monitoring systems.
- Experience of working in Professional Sport, specifically football will be advantageous however is not a necessary requirement.

- This a Part-Time role, the hours of which can be flexible
