Youth Development Coach
JOB PURPOSE
Luton Town FC Community Trust are looking for highly motivated, engaged and enthusiastic FA/UEFA qualified coaches to deliver high quality sessions within our youth development system that provides player pathways from grassroots to schoolboy academy football. Positions available at our Luton, Dunstable, Kempston and Arlesey Centres.
Luton Town FC Community Trust are looking to recruit qualified football coaches for the upcoming 2025/26 season who are be able to deliver age specific coaching programmes as part of the Clubs Youth Development system for recruited players (U8 -U16).
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Planning, delivering, evaluating and recording coaching sessions.
- Delivering age-appropriate coaching sessions to meet the needs of the players.
- Monitoring individual performance within training and games.
- Liaise with parents regarding progress of their children to include co-ordinating a reporting process including parent/player meetings.
- Work closely with the Centre Managers regarding player progression and maintain existing close relationships.
MAIN JOB REQUIREMENTS AND PERSON SPECIFICATION
Education/Qualifications/Training:
- UEFA C/FA Level 2 Coaching certificate required – UEFA B qualification is preferred.
- Current FA DBS check, FA Emergency Aid, FA Safeguarding Children.
- Experience of coaching within a sports development environment – professional club desirable but not essential.
- Experience of developing grassroots players.
- Passionate and enthusiastic about player progression.
- Minimum of two years coaching experience.
Abilities/Skills/Knowledge:
- Have a background within football and a knowledge of development and session planning.
- Knowledge of the Elite Player Performance Plan.
- Is trustworthy and able to take responsibility for themselves and others.
- Values the trust put in them by team members, parents and children.
- Is organised and able to work effectively in both a team environment and as an individual, always maintaining a professional approach to work.
- Is able to relate well to motivate and encourage others being conscious of being a positive role model at all times.
- Reliable and committed with availability.
- Ability to motivate and inspire children to achieve their potential.
- Experience of coaching or having been coached in an Academy/Development system – desirable.
