Partnerships Executive
JOB PURPOSE
The Partnerships Executive will be responsible for the day-to-day management and delivery of Luton Town Football Club’s commercial partnerships, including Club Partners, Advertisers, and Business Club members. Reporting into the Head of Commercial, the role will focus on building strong relationships, delivering contractual rights, and creating engaging activation programmes that consistently exceed partner objectives. The successful candidate will manage a portfolio of partnerships and commercial events, ensuring a best-in-class service that drives measurable value for both partners and the Club. This role will also contribute to the wider commercial strategy by supporting business development activity, tracking partnership performance, and ensuring that the Club’s partners are fully engaged on the journey towards Power Court in 2028/29.
RESOURCES MANAGEMENT
Management responsibility for:
- Account management of the Club’s partnership portfolio.
- Delivery of all obligations to the EFL and its partners.
- End of Season Pitch Hire calendar and delivery.
- Matchday inventory portfolio (LED and Big Screen assets, including matchday playlists), in collaboration with third-party suppliers.
- Production of bi-annual partner performance reports and internal partnership health reports.
- Ad hoc commercial events and new products/services.
- Reports to: Ben Tunnell, Head of Commercial
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
Partnership Management
- Serve as the day-to-day account lead for an allocated portfolio of Club Partners, Advertisers, and Business Club members.
- Work with the Head of Commercial to create and implement season-long activation plans aligned with partner objectives.
- Manage and deliver the Club’s commercial obligations to the English Football League (EFL), ensuring all contractual rights are fulfilled in line with league requirements and standards
- Collaborate with partners to develop bespoke activations across matchday, digital, social, and community platforms.
- Conduct monthly meetings with partners to review activity, build trust, and ensure proactive account servicing.
- With the Head of Commercial, share responsibility for the renewal and retention of all commercial agreements.
- Produce comprehensive bi-annual ROI and KPI performance reports for each partner, and deliver these confidently in review meetings.
- Deliver internal reports on the health of all partnerships, highlighting successes, areas for improvement, and opportunities to superserve key clients.
- Consistently over-deliver against partner objectives, positioning Luton Town FC as a best-in-class rights holder.
- Take partners on the journey to Power Court, ensuring they are engaged with the Club’s long-term vision and commercial opportunities.
Cross-Club Collaboration
- Work closely with departments across the Club, including Marketing, Media, Ticketing, Operations, Luton Town Football Club Trust, and Luton Town Women’s Team, to ensure seamless delivery of partner rights.
- Ensure commercial obligations are fully integrated into Club campaigns, events, and matchday operations.
- Build collaborative internal relationships to maximise partner exposure and value.
Commercial Delivery & Events
- Manage the End of Season Pitch Hire calendar, ensuring smooth planning and execution.
- Lead on ad hoc commercial events and support the launch of new products and services.
- Manage the Club’s matchday inventory portfolio, including LED and Big Screen content, in collaboration with third-party suppliers.
- Support the Commercial team on all matchdays, ensuring delivery of partner obligations and a premium experience for clients.
- Support the organisation and execution of Business Club events, networking forums, and wider commercial programmes.
Business Development Contribution
- Contribute to the Club’s business development strategy by keeping up to date with local and national trends in sponsorship and marketing.
- Feed insights and ideas into the development of new commercial products and revenue streams.
- Support new business activity by sharing intelligence, contacts, and opportunities uncovered through partner management.
MAIN JOB REQUIREMENTS AND PERSON SPECIFICATION
Education/Qualifications/Training:
- Educated to degree level in Business, Marketing, Sports Management, or a related discipline (or equivalent professional experience).
- Demonstrable track record of relevant professional training or industry qualifications in sponsorship, partnerships, or account management.
- Strong IT literacy, including Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook), with advanced Excel skills desirable for reporting and ROI analysis.
- Experience using CRM platforms and project/account management software to track performance and deliver reports.
- Familiarity with digital and social media platforms as part of sponsorship activation.
- Evidence of continuous professional development, with a willingness to undertake relevant training as required.
Specific Experience:
- Proven experience in sponsorship or commercial partnerships account management, ideally within professional sport, entertainment, or related industries.
- Familiarity with sponsorship contracts, rights packages, and activation delivery.
- Solid understanding of digital and social marketing best practices.
- Experience tracking ROI and KPIs of partnerships, and producing high-quality performance reports for clients.
- Confidence in delivering account reviews and presenting bi-annual reports to senior stakeholders.
- Experience using project management and reporting tools/software to aid in the delivery and tracking of partnership programmes.
- Experience in planning and delivering commercial events and/or hospitality activations desirable.

Additional Information:
- This is a full-time position
- The role requires flexibility to work evenings and weekends in line with the Club’s fixture schedule and major events, ensuring the seamless delivery of partner rights and matchday obligations
