Club Furry Mascot
JOB PURPOSE
Luton Town Football Club are seeking two new members to expand our team of matchday mascots, Happy Harry & Happy Hatty.
Who we are looking for?
You will work as a performer of the Mascot character, communicating and engaging the audience ensuring the mascot programme is delivered in a consistent, successful manner. Performances and appearances will include (but is not limited to); matchdays, community activity, team appearances, sponsors appearances, charities, media, and private functions - this could be weekdays, week nights and weekends. You will work as part of our Fan Engagement Team and be expected to interact with Adults & Children.
To be successful, you will be able to communicate and engage with the audience and able to adapt your approach depending on who your audience is. You will have the ability to work in a fast-paced environment and maintain the highest level of professionalism when representing Luton Town FC and Club partners. You will have experience in character performance and should be physically fit to handle the demands of performing in the mascot costume. You will also have the ability to work flexible hours and travel locally when required.
Key Requirements:
· You must be 18 years or older.
· You must be energetic, outgoing and enthusiastic.
· A great sense of humour.
· Have a good level of fitness to be able to perform for extended periods.
· Willing to work in all weather conditions.
· Be consistent ‘in character’.
· Willing to undergo full training for the position.
· Strong nonverbal communication skills for when in costume.
· Be confident working in a busy environment.
· Be proud and professional representing the football club.
· Show initiative.
· Work well as part of a team.
· Be reliable and committed.
What will you be doing?
The role is to sit within a team of people that will be Happy Harry and Hatty both on a matchday (evenings, weekends and bank holidays) and non-matchdays Club and Community Engagement initiatives.
· Posing for photographs.
· Signing autographs.
· Meet & Greet opportunities around the stadium.
· Taking part in Half-time activities on the pitch.
· Working with Management to develop new ideas and routines.
· Maintain the costume and report any repairs or replacements as required.
Additional Information:
- This a casual role.
- Applicants must be eligible to live and work in the UK.
- Applicants will be subject to a full DBS Check.
