Trainee Social Media Executive

JOB PURPOSE
- Support the growth and engagement of Luton Town’s Academy social media channels through regular, creative, and high-quality social content.
- Ensure all Academy social media activity is consistent with the Club’s overall communications strategy and brand standards.
- Contribute new and creative ideas to help increase audience reach, engagement, and follower growth across platforms.
- Create story-driven posts and short-form video content that align with the Club’s digital tone and visual identity.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Assist in the day-to-day creation and publishing of content across all of the Club’s social media platforms, with a particular focus on the Academy.
- Attend fixtures to cover Luton Town Academy games for official Club channels.
- Populate the Academy’s social media pages with regular, engaging content to support growth and increase visibility across channels.
- Help monitor social media trends and propose creative ideas to improve engagement and reach across channels.
- Ensure Academy social media content aligns with the Club’s overall branding, tone, and style, following guidance and direction from the Social Media Manager.
- Assist in the creation short form video content for first team & academy social media channels.
- Assist in tracking social performance metrics and data to analyse social content.
MAIN JOB REQUIREMENTS AND PERSON SPECIFICATION
- A genuine passion for football and an enthusiasm for social media
- Basic understanding of key social media platforms (Instagram, X, TikTok, Facebook, YouTube) and their audiences.
- Good written and verbal communication skills with strong attention to detail.
- Creative mindset with an eye for engaging visuals, captions, and trends.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a small, collaborative media team.
- Good organisational and time management skills to meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
- Willingness to work flexible hours, including evenings and weekends, particularly for match coverage.
- Eagerness to learn, take feedback, and develop skills in a professional football media environment.
